Gain exclusive early-access to C4 2019 by attending Preview Night! For three hours, the show floor will be open for attendees to get first pick at the vendors, meet their favorite creators, sign up for artist’s commission lists, and much more! Preview night is open to everyone!!! If you’ve never been to C4, here’s your chance to try it out before the crowds roll in on Saturday! ***Not All Guests Will Be In Attendance. C4 AFTER-HOURS STEVE DILLON DRINK & DRAW – SPONSORED BY MAMMOTH DISTILLING

Cherry Capital Comic Con kicks off the first after-hours event of the show with an evening full of drinks, merriment, and art! Grab a drink with artists and featured guests from the show at this limited-access event. Sketch out your favorite characters, or check out the work of others! Join us as we pay tribute to our friend and past C4 Guest Steve Dillon. All art created at this event will be up for charity auction at Saturday Night’s After Party! Drink & Draw ticket holders only. Must be 21 years of age or older.

Members of the 501st Legion host an all-ages blaster range game at their booth on the convention floor to help raise awareness of and a generous donation to Lori’s Voice. Guaranteed prizes, and only $1 to play- all proceeds benefit Lori’s Voice. Check in with Legion members to find out about the hottest new game sweeping the galaxy- Sabacc- and how to register to play in this elite tournament for prizes and intergalactic fame!

Go behind the scenes of Gunslingers, the hot new book launching at C4 2019 from Rocket Ink Studios! Take advantage of this rare opportunity to meet the entire creative team- writer Rob Humphrey and artists Dakota Lee, Tony Miello, and Bill Pulkovski- as they pull back the curtain on revisiting some of history’s most notorious icons of the old-west. All panel attendees will receive a limited Gunslingers print that can be signed by the whole creative team!

Watch these masters of the craft create art in real time as we throw a few… curveballs… their way. Watch the creative process unfold and experience how each artist uniquely interprets concepts as they come alive on the page!

Comic creator Kasey Pierce explains how to sell indie to a comic-con landscape of Big Bang Theory fans and Funko-fanatics–the “stuff enthusiasts”. She’ll also be covering how to sell a script and what publishers look for in both the work and the creator. A must-attend panel for aspiring indie comic creators!

A CONVERSATION WITH JAMES O’BARR

As the independent comics scene began to flourish nationwide, a young visionary named James O’Barr found a home for his story, The Crow, with Gary Reed’s Detroit-based Caliber Comics. It would grow into a cult classic- spawning multiple films, additional comics, a number of action figures, and a rabid fan following. Join moderator Tony Miello (Rocket Ink Studios), as we bring James home to Michigan to discuss his roots, the early days of The Crow at Caliber, and what’s next for one of  indie comics’ most recognizable creators.

The moment has finally arrived! After months of nominations, the selection committee has narrowed down FOUR finalists for the third annual Gary Reed Independent Creator of the Year Award. Join us as we announce who the recipient of the 2018 award will be, and who was voted as most honoring the spirit of Gary Reed in independent comics. Will it be Kasey Pierce, Victor Dandridge Jr., Corinne Roberts, or Travis McIntire? Find out here!

ROTTENTAIL: A SOURCE POINT PRESS FILM SCREENING

Leaping off the pages from the hit graphic novel from David C. Hayes, Kevin Moyers, Kurt Belcher, & Source Point Press- be a part of this exclusive movie screening, right here at C4! Geeky fertility researcher Peter Cotton is bitten by a mutant rabbit and changes into the half-man/half-bunny Rottentail. What’s a boy to do? Why, take a hippity-hoppity trip home of course! Peter begins a bloody killing spree of revenge that culminates in his childhood hometown of Easter Falls. Starring Corin Nemec, Dominique Swain, & William McNamara.

The after-hours festivities commence with the C4 Silent Art Auction from 8pm-10pm- featuring all of the art created at Friday Night’s Steve Dillon Drink & Draw! A portion of the proceeds from the Art Auction will go to support our 2019 charity- THE HERO INITIATIVE- in honor of Steve Dillon. During the Art Auction, grab a drink from the cash bar and gear up for C4 CHERRY-OKE, warming up at the 9pm hour and going steady through the end of the evening! Cool art, a good cause, and a night of raucous antics await as we party comic con style! Open to all convention ticketholders 21 years of age or older.

All kids attending C4 are invited to meet up with the costumers from the 501st and Rebel Legions and take part in a rousing parade fit for an Emperor. Join the Legions as they march throughout the convention floor and into the main lobby of the Grand Traverse Resort- officially opening the convention floor for the day.

Join Gary Reed Independent Creator of the Year Award Finalist Victor Dandridge, Jr. as he gears up to bring U-CRE-8 Comics materials to 3000 students as a result of his wildly successful Kickstarter campaign! See how U-CRE-8 Comics engages and empowers students to learn by bridging comic books into the classroom with specially-crafted materials focused on using the sequential arts to encourage education fundamentals, and how it is changing lives.
